[CHICKENS-101] Re: I think my Ethel's crop bound!

 

Hi,
I had the same problem with one of my RIR biddies when she was about 3 weeks old. I even took her to the vet but he's not an Avian vet. What I did was soaked some bread in warm olive oil (you can also use mineral oil) & let her eat only that for a day or so. You have to massage her crop every few hours if possible. Then in a day or so add a little ration. Again what I did was put the ration in a coffee grinder & made it extra fine. Add a little warm olive oil to it & give it to her, at the same time have available the bread soaked in warm olive oil. ONLY give very small portions of the ration. You can either have warm water for her or actually use an eye dropper & drop some down her mouth. Do this every time you massage her crop & at feeding time. I hope it works for you as well as it did for me.
