Our Rabbi called us at home, four in the morning, telling us to take
cover. We were fine, but I was shaken. Claustrophobia kicked in big
time, hiding behind that mattress, but I stayed there with Dan until
it was over with. Like I said, a strip of siding came off our house,
but no real damage. We were blessed.
On a weird note, the afternoon after, as I was doing dishes and
looking out the window, I noticed one of the tree tops in our
neighbor's yard. The winds had shaped it into the shape of an
angel. It has grown out since, but I have old Polaroids of it.
