Great idea Darla.  It's much better since I get them outside ASAP, but when you're silly (like me) and hatch ALL winter, it's bound to catch up~LOL  I do only keep them on paper towels while they are inside.  My 3 plus week old Seramas were NOT amused that they had nothing for dusting, but I was sure they didn't really want to be out in the barn either :-)

I started using shredded newspaper that I shred in my paper shredder and there is almost no dust with the chicks I keep in my kitchen.  I can keep them in as long as I want now which is around 3 weeks.  If you have a paper shredder get some used newspaper shred them up and put some in the box, I add a little more in 3 days than change on day 6 not that it needs it just because I want to.  I have asthma and allergies too and this is a blessing.  I hope you get to feeling better soon.  Darla
