I am sorry about your hen, and am really glad that your rooster killed it. Seems like it's always our pets that get it. My egg layers will not free range because we have so many hawks, big hawks.

Yeah, I think it was a juvenile Coopers Hawk after looking at several photos.
I feel really badly because it was a beautiful bird. It was caught in the pen and couldn't get out. My rooster really gave it the business.
