I agree with all of you. I spend a lot of time outside in the summer because of the time I spend with the boarding kennel dogs. The chickens just mosey about their business and sometimes actually come out with the dogs that are good with them.
My own dogs are great with them and since I have had several days this month with no kennel dogs, I have spent time out with just my dogs and the chickens. It is heavenly. Not so good to lose one to a hawk though. She was my pet and lots of love came my way from her.

I think I know why our favorites are always the ones that die. They are more trusting than the others and things can sneak up on them easier.
