[CHICKENS-101] Re: smelly box in basement

 

One thing I've found that works well for litter for animal areas inside is regular old potting soil; we use it for our ferret & for catboxes when we have kittens inside; the soil absorbs smells rather well. Plus if you have chicks in it; they have a good place to learn, place plastic down, & a layer of cardboard for easy cleanup. their "scratching." Nice thing about it; it's 100% organic, toss it into your mulch pile or an unused area of your garden.
