Re: [CHICKENS-101] Rat Problem

We had a huge rat problem as well, so we decided to put out live traps! Yes those are really gross but we caught 16 rats in two nights!! We put peanut butter on the traps and it worked very well, now I have not seen any signs of rats! Though I'm sure there are still some out there! So give that a try, we put them out during night time while the chickens were in bed. We stuck them in the run and some out of the run and we caught them all places. Good luck and I know how you feel, rats are so disgusting!!

I have a serious rat infestation that is now WAY out of control. We've resorted to poison, but will that be enough? They are out in the day time and eating tons of chicken feed, even if we put it away at night. I think we may just move the hens until we build the chicken tractor. Will the rats follow the chickens an acre away...which will be closer to our home?
I'm a big chicken when it comes to the rats!
Thanks for any support/advice!
