Folks:
Electrolytes such as McMurray's "Quik Chik" is good for chicks HOWEVER: FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS - including the length of time - usually 3 days - TO THE LETTER !!!!
Additionally you should teach each chick water is available by carefully dipping its' beak in the water (don't submerge the nares). Do this gently and release the chick so it can throw its' head back and swallow the drop of water on its' beak. Most of the time the chick will dip its' beak on its' own and take a drink. If it doesn't drink on its' own dip it again. I've never had to repeat the procedure a 3rd time, but I suppose it can happen.
