I can tell you that you want something the hawk can see. You want to
discourage the hawk from even trying to attack. They won't see the fishing
line until they're already snared in it. Then ut will either fall to the
ground and eat your babies, or be hanging there when you get home. Either
way, you'll have a trapped hawk to deal with.

Hi Ol' George,
I hate to bother you again but I had a roll of cotton kite string (520') and
decided to start weaving the line back and forth between the two fences
tonight. I got to thinking after I finished whether you meant cotton, nylon
or polyester. The 520' only covered about 10' of the yard. Before I go out
and buy more string, I'd sure like to know which one is best to use. I can
see that this will work well to keep out that pesky hawk. I'm sure he'll be
back. I can say the cotton is really neat looking and easy to work with. I
also have 10-20-30-40 pound fishing line on hand. I just want to use the
right one to be assured we don't lose any of these precious babies.
Thanks so much for your help.
