Re: [CHICKENS-101] Re: hawk problem Attn: Ol' George

Anne, I don't remember if you said where you live, but hewre in Michigan we have MANY breeds of hawk which will go after chickens, and not too many can carry them away, but they WILL land in your coop and kill chickens.
We have chicken wire roof on our chicken coop.

Hi Ol' George:

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I'd already had visions of grandeur by
putting up a big frame with chicken wire, but this trick will save a
bundle. I'll work on getting this done tomorrow morning. I just read your
message, or I would have had it done today.

Who knows, I may wind up with a rooster. I don't know the rate of sexing
the chicks that Murray McMurray toots, but even experts make a mistake now
and again. LOL! I only know the sex links are all pullets, and so far the
others are not showing any 'boy' tendencies.

I'm hoping when the 'babes' reach their top weight that a chicken hawk can't
carry them away. I've never had one land in the pasture with the horse and
goat, but if they are hungry, they may attempt to.

Thanks again for this wise advice. Hope your evening is grand.

Anne H.
