Re: [CHICKENS-101] Incubating eggs

I used my booklight (focused, super bright LED light) to candle my chicken eggs.  I've got all colors from almost white, green to medium brown and I could candle them all... and my chickens lay super hard shelled eggs!

Good luck!!

I put eggs in the bator on March 21st. I have both duck and chicken eggs in there. My chickens lay such thick shells (or most of them do) that I can't see thru them with any light. I can tell my duck eggs are developing nicely and can tell on a few chicken eggs that they have at least veins. The rest of the egg is too dark to see any more. So those of you with chocolate colored eggs. Do you just hope for the best?
I was so excited to see the duck embryos moving around. Never gets old seeing them develop. I wish I could watch my chicken eggs too.
