Not complaining or anything but we've had 8 chicks in our basement for 2 weeks and we've changed the bedding only once so far. It's ready to be changed again now but it's never smelled. We are using pine shavings.

We are raising some chicks for some friends, the chicks are 4 weeks old and I am using hay for thier bedding, If I remember you could put lime to help reduce the smell but is it harmfull to chicks, they will hopefully be picked up in two weeks , but what to do before then???
