HI, we were having some trouble with out chicks pecking too hard, I was advised to add some sunflower hearts to their diet, I was just in walmart and in the " bird" section I saw a large, 7 lb bag of sunflower " pieces" it looked like chopped sun flowers and they also had safflower pieces too, is this what I should be looking for? Can I use these or does it have to say " hearts" ??They also suggested dry cat food as a protein supplement. I tried a small bag and the chicks loved it. About how much of this should they be getting per day, added to their reg feed? we have 34 chicks, many thanks carol g a new chick mama
