I have a new little Serama chick. I had shipped eggs under the hen for 21 days with no chicks and since 19 days is usual for the Seramas, I thought I had better check. There were only two that developed and one was dead, overcooked I think and this one I made a tiny hole in the air cell so it could breathe since it was peeping and put it back under the hens. They kicked it out and let it get cold. I thought it was dead but brought it in anyway and checked. No blood in the membrane so I opened the shell. Poor little thing was in fact nearly dead so I put him under the heat lamp and gave him a drop of warm sugar water and he is slowly reviving. I hope I can save the tiny thing.
It's pic is below......
Gotta go, he is calling me!
:-)
The thermo is about the size of a 50 cent piece.
