Hi Erin; They will be fine in the flower pot for a couple days.
No way can she handle 20 hicks, I would wait 24 hours and then see what you you have, She will tuck them up under her wings. I would take some and put them in a brooder while letting the hen raise some. It could take a while to hatch them all. Carefully pick them up and listen for peeping.
Yes. You need Chick Starter RIGHT NOW. Well at least in 2 days. Mother nature has allowed chicks to survive for about 72 hours, otherwise they would never survive the time it takes to hatch the whole clutch. The she will show them where there is food and water when they need it.\

> Ok so after 24 days we finally have at least 1 chick. (out of 20 eggs). Now the questions...
> The hen made her nest in a flower pot that is about a foot maybe foot 1/2 tall. Should we move her since the eggs are hatching? I don't want the chicks to try to follow her and break their legs or neck for trying to jump out.
> She hasn't gotten off them yet but we saw a broken shell and heard chirpping. Should we move her to get to the chicks or should we let her move when she thinks it's time?
> Should we get starter feed for the chicks and her to eat? I know with dogs the mother needs puppy food, but she's also phyiscally feeding them.

> So some more news...This is our first and apparently not our last hatching. Our other hen decided to sit on her nest too since last night. We will see what happens with her. She's on 12 eggs.
