Re: [CHICKENS-101] dandelions vs Ragweed

If you do not want to use round up type products, I read that vinegar and dish soap work; tablespoon of dish soap to a gallon of water. I am on my way out to make up my spray for around the garden and plant my dandelions. I have resorted to using brush killer made up twice as strong as recommended for poison ivy for my parents place because it will kill the spreading roots. My mom is so allergic that just being in the area of poison ivy makes her very sick and blooming poison ivy is a complete danger to her.
Get yourself a good mask, a wet bandanna to put over the mask, and move slowly while spraying. I get overheated easily when I wear a mask but wear them when needed. It's worth it.

I would love to get rid of ragweed too. My dh and I are both VERY allergic.
Hope someone has a solution.

Does anyone know if dandelions would kill off ragweed? We are overrun
with ragweed for the past couple of years and I am getting desperate
because I am allergic to the nasty stuff.
Our hens free range, but they don't seem to care for ragweed - how bad
is it when even the hens won't eat it!!
I would love to have dandelions growing here and would plant them if I
thought they would help.
Does anyone know how to get rid of ragweed????
Thanks
Debbie
