Well, it gets dark here at between 4 and 5 pm and isn't light again until about 8 in the morning.
My chickens have all started laying again. Normally they do all winter anyway because normally I have a huge vapor light in the back yard which shines some into the pens. This year I have had it off most of the time at night and they stopped laying. All of a sudden they are laying again and we have very dark days here on top of late sun rising and early setting.
Who knows what goes on in their little pea picking brains?????
