Re: [CHICKENS-101] Re: aggravated with Murray McMurray PHOTOS POSTED

That's sad but not surprising. I had a box of chicks arrive last winter that about half of them were dead. The part that made me maddest was: We had a new post master here, the old one had been here most my life and would come in early and call immediately if a live shipment was expected, I told the new one about it and reminded her the day before, the truck arrived at 5am, she refused to come in until 8, so my chicks sat on the dock in the cold for 3hrs before being brought in, she then called me sounding grumpy that she had a cheeping box. I complained, she upset a few others as well, and she's no longer at our post office. I have no idea how many made it alive to my PO but I know how many made it out of there.
Why some people don't care about life, others, or have pride in their jobs I'll never know.

<<Maybe it was the mail delivery system that held up your chicks?>>

I've heard horror stories in that regard--box of chicks left out in the hot sun, or out on a loading dock on a cold day--despite box labeling.

I can believe it... Just before Christmas I sold a book--buyer never received it, tracking simply stopped after 2 days, and three weeks went by.  The day after I'd refunded the buyer's money, I got the heavy outer envelope back (book had been in bubble wrap and cardboard as well)--not only torn right across the packing tape, but I kid you not, it had TIRE TRACKS on it!!
