Wow Cathryn, I wasn't aware that Rock or Cornish were Broodie types. That is interesting. As far as winter and not Spring, I have had one of my Ameracauna hens hatch chicks in both December and January in the past and we are Not in the warmest of climates. I guess when the hormones flood,there just isn't any stopping that mother instinct, LOL. Ginger B
