RE: [CHICKENS-101] Docile breed

 

            Silkies are the most docile, but not the most prolific layers.  I have found Naked Necks to be nice hens……docile and good layers.  The best chicken for dual purpose……..prolific layers and good size for eating are Plymouth Rocks, imo.  I have Barred and White……..nice chickens……..no mutinies yet!  I like NH Reds, also.

What is the most docile breed of chicken that is still a good layer, and can handle the cold? I live in Wisconsin.
Based on past experience - I'm not sure I believe everything the hatchery catalog says!
