I should read all the replies before I stick my oar in. Anyway, there are horror stories from every hatchery. Most of them are weather related. If the chicks get chilled they will die. Freak storms are unpredictable and sometimes they are mishandled. The best way to avoid desaster is not to order your chicks too early in the season.
