Alex is beautiful! How can you call him scruffy? What a handsome boy!
You know, there are 9 feed stores in my area. I was instructed to get my
baby a sleeping partner. But I'd call a feed store, and by the time I got
there, they were sold out! Sure enough, when you don't need them they are so
tempting, when you do want one .... GONE! Ended up buying the last two
leghorns in the east valley of PHOENIX!!
But, I talk.... and I talk a lot! Lol! I ended up side tracked and bringing
home 8 two week old BBS Jersey Giant chicks!! I am edited out them.
Typical, needed one, bought 10! Bad Angie.
Going Bo have to look up the history, but the chicks I brought home are
foundation blood from the original three creators? My kids can show them....
IN TWO YEARS! Takes them that long to mature! I learned a lot today.
You can call me the BBS farm.... just not sure what the first "B" Would
stand for....lol!

Subject: [CHICKENS-101] Re: No One Told Me!!!
I'm certainly no expert on chickens...worst of all dealing with
hatching eggs! But it sounds like you are in exactly the same position
we were in when we ended up with Alex. We were throwing away all these
cold eggs the hens had left, and suddenly we find one is peeping! Oh
Gwad. We couldn't throw THAT one away! So my daughter rushed it in to
the house and wrapped it in warm towels and started carefully picking
the shell off. VERY carefully...some of it was still stuck to the chick.
It took a long time, but she finally got the chick out. The rest of the
story is "history"...Alex will be 2 years old in October! Here's his
