Nightshade plants are potatoes, tomatoes and egg plant, plus some peppers. Purple cabbage and regular cabbage are both fine for our chickens.

Can chickens eat purple cabbage? I have a 3lb bag of it and won't eat it. Is it in the nightshade family?
