Thanks, Shirley! He's a VERY special chicken. I have to admit, I don't really know that much about chickens....I'm having to use my intuition alot with Alex to make sure he's handling situations OK. He definitely doesn't like smokers! I have to be careful who I let hold him as he is definitely uncomfortable with some people and I have to respect that. I don't want him getting sick from someone else's illness. I once let a handicapped lady in a wheel chair hold Alex. She was SO happy...she hadn't held a chicken for many many years. But in her exuberance, she was bending his poor tail down and making him so uncomfortable! So I have learned to really supervise and monitor people who want to hold him. He's such a sensitive little thing.....he really seems to 'read' people and is relaxed with some, but not others. He's already a therapy chicken!
Much love~
Deb
