You do not need to open it to turn the eggs. I used books and 2 by fours wood screwed together. First I prop up one end of the incubator, then when I go by later I prop up the other end. Works as well as a turner if it you do it when you get up in the night too. Wish I had a couple of my thermometers I bought for science labs home. They are very dependable. Cath

piece of crap ($73 with shipping and mishandleing) !
The Box is Styrofoam
The Thermometer from a dollar store
The thermostat, Well, I have NEVER seen anything like it.

This weekend I will go to a Pet Store and Home Depot and see what I can
come up with to build that is stronger and cheaper.

Thank God I have a couple of broody chickens.
