[CHICKENS-101] Re: Deer/was OT 4-h cheaters/Redneck - Mike

Hey, that's the same company that makes the Bird-X polypro netting that I'd used to keep the chickens (etc!) from eating my strawberries & blueberries!  I wonder if it's the same thing except for this being just 3 ft in width by 50 ft long (I bought the smaller roll) and black in color.  Heck, it's worth a try!, since it's not being used on my strawberry plants right now anymore.
              Thanks Bob!!!!

Hi guys, it's called Deer-X and it's green, 7' tall X 100' long. It's made by a company called Gardeneer. The DW got it from a catalog(Don't know which one but I suspect Agri-Supply) and she got 4 of them. That was 3 years ago and they were like $6 something each. We have a tremendous deer problem and so far haven't used the second 100 foot up! It's a 3/4" polypropylene mesh and pretty tough stuff. It stopped our deer losses cold. Each fall we take it down and roll it up, put it in the garage and it's good to go next year. Google it. It's out there somewhere. There's no internet address on the package or I'd give it to you.
All we had were 5' t posts so I wired 1" pvc pipe to them to get the needed height and it worked great. Even stopped the damn rabbits! We have watched the deer at night walking around and around, trying to get in and then walk off. It works.  HTH-Bob.
