when i was 12, i did a science project for school and ended up only hatching one little chick. she followed me everywhere and even climbed all over me when i layed down on the floor. she eventually became the sweetest RIR hen we had. even when she was full grown, she would wait for us to pick her up when we went into the chicken yard. she would come running and just plop down in front of ya until you picked her up. my dad and i would take turns toting her around the chicken yard while we fed and watered the other kids. soooooooo, dont worry about your lonely little chick; just give it plenty of love and attention and your only child will grow up well adjusted, mommy.
