Thank you very much for sharing. I am going to save this info to ponder and for a just in case. Most cases of sour crop are not as serious as your hen's is. Her head tucking is what made me feel she was in deep trouble and she was. You are a good chicken keeper to take her in to the vet.

reglan/metoclopramide injection
Probiocin gel aka benebac - 0.5 gram once a day
Trimethoprim/Sulfa suspension - 0.8ml 2x a day

We did not really need the benebac but it was < $20. We plan to keep the girls on kefir over the long run, I am the only drinker in the house so I usually have spare.

$63 for the visit, $66 for the labs, and $43 for the shot. It all sounds ok based on taking other pets to the vet in the past.

Our hen was just shy of 2lbs. for those wondering.
