Hi Ol' Geo,
You probably didn't see the little Black Australorp that is in the infirmary by herself. She has one bum foot but is learning to walk pretty good now. I took her to the Vet last Monday and he thought it was a genetic problem. I thought it was broken and we could splint it, or else splayed, but isn't. He didn't give me much hope in saving her, but I'll do everything I can for her. Her little foot sorta hangs down, just like the old cases of polio, if you can picture that. I noticed yesterday she was flexing the foot and putting it down and hobbling and today seems better. Poor little girl.
There are:
11 Black Star
11 Red Star
5 Black Australorp
5 Barred Rock
5 Buff Orphington
5 Silver Laced Wyandotte
By the way, they are all pullets.

Hi Everybody,
Finally, the chicks arrived (Valentine's Day) and all 42 are doing well. The hen house is finally finished and I'm just waiting until the babies are big enough to go to their new home. Right now I have some in a hundred gallon water trough and two large plastic tubs in the greenhouse with heat lamps.
I am so excited to finally have my little flock of chicks. I've added an album 'Anne Hudson' in the photo section if you'd like to see what is making me so happy.
Thanks for looking!
Anne
