600 chickens. I can't even imagine! Do you personally care for them all, or do you hire the work done. I don't ever want my chicken 'operation' to reach the point it takes more than 2 hours to tend to everything. For me it is a hobby.

well , knowing that this deep freeze was coming i would have got the gen operational a day or 2 ahead jus to secure the powe before i needed it. other than that we heat and cool or chicken house. right now we have a wood stove going full throtle in the middle of the barn heating everyone nicely. wished we had lit it last nite as we found dead chicks this morn due to piling....
got it going now tho. we have practically white-out conditions right now and look to get another 2 inches or so on mon and tue.
and i guess i consider my self a happy self proclaimed chicken addict. i couldnt just have one or 6 i have to have 6 hundred and counting...
