Re: [CHICKENS-101] baby chicks bring back fond memories

Not rude at all!  My husband and I have 4 adopted children, ages 50, 42, 15 and 5.  We also have 3 of our own who are 42, 41, and 35.  They blend well and are all OUR CHILDREN - in other words, we think we had them all and their is no difference to us.  We have a lot of grandchildren also, 14 I think and 1 great grand.  They do  not all live close to us, but we see them often.  I am the only one in the family so far with chickens, but would not be surprized if some of them get some one day.  Our 19 year old granddaughter is coming to live with us in a couple of weeks and go to college near us.

I home school my 15 year old daughter.  She is a challenge but I love her and want her to grow up and be a successful adult.  My 5 year old goes to a private kindergarten and will go to school until about 3rd grade and then I will home school him also.

I am pretty healthy even though I have had 2 strokes.  My health and attitude are because of my faith, family, friends,  a healthy diet and exercise.  I love working with my chickens and watching them play.  Tommy and Bella help with them.  I am also a runner and art teacher to home school children.  I like to travel so I may show up on your door step some day.  You are welcome on mine any time you need to take a trip across the water.

Hi Susan. WOW, WOW & WOW! Are you serious? You have a five year old & a 15 year old & you are 67?
So let me get this right ( I'm useless at maths) that means you had your 15 year old at the age of 52 & your 5 year old at the grand old age of 62!
Oh my ! Are they your only children or do you have grown up kids with their own children?
And if they are your first, did you choose to wait till later on in life or had you health probs that caused the delay?
How do you cope? Cos I'm only 46 & I get tired running around after my teenagers I don't think I could cope with a 5 year old. Or do you find they keep you feeling younger than you are? Sorry I don't mean to be rude I think it's amazing. Jane & Co
