[CHICKENS-101] She never heard peep she didn't respond to

 

I went down to feed my birds and all of my chicken coop pigeons were out...all five. Now the older pigeons had just hatched peeps last week, now it's not really cold and it's warmer in the chicken house but these little guys are very, very naked (and homely). No chance they would have survived. So I wnt up to the house fully expecting dead babies...but no...a Silkie had taken over and was quite upset when the pigeon parents arrived. She did not leave graciously, it took a couple of good raps on the head to convince her. I love those Silkie mamas.
