Pete, I have wild bird netting over my pens.  This pretty much keeps wild birds out.  Plus if the wild birds cannot find the feed and water, then they do not tend to get into pens. That is what I said, I'd test or I'd cull. Cath


OK while good bio security is wise .... keeping wild birds away is almost impossible .... if your birds go outside. Now if you have fully enclosed housing with air filtration systems and filtered water with no interference from outside sources then you have complete bio security ( plus disinfecting everyone that goes inside and as they come out ).  But if you have outside pens and wild birds even perch on fence or top they can and will poop .... if you allow your birds to free range .... if you hold a bird and were in contact with or near someone who had contact with any other birds ... and the list goes on.  So I'd say test one bird and get advise from a qualified vet and treat accordingly.  Culling entire flocks should be the last alternative in severe and contagious conditions only or if you have unlimited funds.
