Laura, Please tell Mia Happy Birthday for me and that I hope they do well! Love your picture! Your children are beautiful. Cathryn
We cooped in our very first show birds tonight, at the County Fair :-) The kids are each entering 6 chickens and 1 turkey. It's been so much fun getting them ready. FYI, turkeys do not like, or appreciate, baths...at all.
Since only a few of our breeds are APA recognized, we were only able to take our White Crested Blue Polish, Light Sussex (Greenfire Farms lines), Bantam Lavender Ameraucana, Welsummers and our last Frizzled Barred Bantam Cochin roo "Sparkplug". The kids are super excited :-) I didn't enter any birds in the open show, as I wanted to be able to concentrate on their birds. Today is Mia's 9th Birthday too :-)
Below is a photo of us in the minivan, on the way to the Washington County Arkansas Fair :-)
Bottom left, 2 young Bourbon Red Turkey hens
Top left, Welsummer pair, behind them in cat kennels were Sparkplug and the 3 young Bantam Lavender Ameraucanas.
Bottom right is a 3 stall show box with the 2 young Light Sussex who MORE than filled a stall each and a young Polish & Welsummer in the other.
Top right, Blue Polish pair :-)
