Re: [CHICKENS-101] chick question

 

Judy, Who is funning you?  Chicks pooh great on their own.  Just let one get out of the brooder and see how much they can pooh--- everywhere.  I give them acidophilus or yogurt in their feed to jump start their good crop bacteria, and at two weeks give them a little bit of very small grit, (I  use parakeet) to help their gizzard get off to a good start.  Cathryn


Someone just told me that for a few days after hatching from an

incubator you must wipe each chick's behind in order to stimulate it to poo.
I know this is normal for mammals, is this true for birds as well?
