Re: [CHICKENS-101] Re: aggravated - Q for Marla

Judy,
We started out with RIR's and with the exception of one sweet Roo & a couple kind hens the rest of them were murderous individuals. The true RIR is a small feathered velocoraptor. lol They picked on eachother and tried to annihilate hens of other breeds, the hens were rude with the humans but the roo's (except the one) attacked us every chance they got. I had mostly RIR's & Black sexlinks along with buff orps, ameraucanas, and barred rocks. After a year I decided what breeds I liked the personalities of and the RIRs didn't make the cut. My buffs are unusual in their exceptional laying abilities from what I understand, and they are sweet gentle  friendly birds. Something very important since I have kids and I watch my little nephews.

Marla,
I've never had RIRs or Orps so I would like to ask why you prefer
the buff Orps over the RIRs. Is it because of personality? Need for care?
or?

Thank you,
