This group is GREAT!
Jeff: the chicks in the bathroom is someone else but the advice is great.
I just gave my HEPA filter to my daughter who has an over the top allergy to Live Oak. Yes, we live in Los Angeles, "Land of Live Oak", and of course there is one right outside her bedroom window. Everything is blooming at the moment. I am going out to buy another HEPA air filter today. The one I gave my daughter was about $250. Plus it has finally warmed up a bit here, so at least I will be able to open the windows.
Or I'll just put them downstairs. I just like having them within the active household so I can keep a better eye on them But I must say, I do like BREATHING much much better. If the HEPA filter and open windows don't work, then I'll put them downstairs in the music room.

A HEPA air filter available at stores like Lowes (where we bought ours), Home Depot, maybe Wal-mart and for sure online. IMHO, you would not need a very expensive HEPA filter, but probably one in the $150 range. Be sure to get one with a charcoal filter to remove chemicals from the air.

It would also need to be secure from the very strong, persistant raccoons, dogs, cats and the like. Advice on how to build one should come from someone else on this group as they know much more than I do.

Forced air flow from a vent could stir up dust, ultra fine particles or chemicals that may otherwise settle down.
