About 3 days before my husband committed harry carry on the eggs under my hens, one of the hens tossed an egg out. Not just any egg, but a JEWEL egg. My best hen. So, I said a little prayer, but before tossing it in the garbage, I decided to toss it in the incubate. Can;t hurt can it?
So, tonight I am candling my eggs like I neurotically do every night and I got to this egg. Only this time something was sticking out of the black mass in the egg.... THEN IT PEEPED AT ME!!! No one ever told me an egg would peep to me!!! What the.....??? All I have read, all the hatchings I have seen, no one told me they peep inside the egg!
Now here is my concern. I am only 5 days into the rest of the eggs. I already moved this one, duh....
My humidity has been at 79%. I added 2 wet sponges tonight. What else can I do to insure this little peep can get out??? He's been fighting a losing battle all week. I don't want him to die now! AND WHY DO I KEEP SAYING HIM?
Panicked grandma..... help!!!!
