[CHICKENS-101] newbie with baby chicks

 

This is the first time I have ever had baby chicks and I feel like a new mother! We are on day three with our new additions!
My question is their butt...I read somewhere to make sure that they don't get clogged. Perhaps I am getting a little neurotic about it but I have been checking constantly. We did loose one of the little gals yesterday (I had no idea you could become so attached after just 1 day!..I was heartbroken!) Today another seems smaller and and not quite as active as the others...I feel so helpless! Should I continue to put a warm damp paper towel on the backside when it looks a little clogged or will nature do it's thing??
Is there anything else I should be doing other than clean food, water and bedding? How long before you stop worrying whether or not they will make it??
All recommendations and suggestions are greatly appreciated!
