Added light and large box or cage for chickens hospital . If no one is interested I'll stop the list, it is ok. I started making a list to help people new to chickens. We have a list in the files but medical supplies/wound treatments have changed since it was made.
horse wrap and gauze pads
antibiotic ointment (not pain free) for bumble foot mixed with a tiny drop of tea tree oil to draw out infection in bumble footscissors- cut away feathers from a wound or trim a beak (file beak with a file or emery board after trimming)small needle nose pliers to pull a bleeding blood feather out or pluck feathers carefully away from a woundlight with bulb/heat lamp for a chicken hospital- suited for inside or outside temps- bird can get under or away from to support healingolive oil- for crop bound - have also used crop bound capsules aka stool softner capsules and drug store psyllium husk capsules
*always wet a tablet or capsule before putting it into a chickens mouth because they do not make saliva like we do
children's vitamins with minerals (crushabl) used for downers/lame with b complex
b complex tablets or capsules for lameness and or curled toes - all 11 b vitamins.
horse e and selenium- to be given in very small amounts for head tucking and/or mycotoxin poisoning
worminator - for emergencies or valuable poultry -Twin City Poultry Supply kills all worms and only takes a drop or twoweak goat tube feeding kit - chickens who cannot feed on their own and have a chance of recovering-chicken on counter facing, crop on leftNuCote, a liquid bandaid. It stings for a minute but covers and seals the wound, then eventually falls off> super glue- glue wounds together, glue broken spurs, stop a nail from bleeding again
> blue kote-kills bacteria and fungus
peroxide to boil out predator saliva and dirt, only use once or twice at the most
> blood stop and soldering gun in case the blood stop doesn't work after awhile on a broken spur or nail

> Prep H- for prolapsed vent or stuck egg reduces inflammation of tissues
> duramycin or other brand aka tetracycline aka terramycin aka chlortetracylcine use for wounds that need an antibiotic or mycoplasma infection
