Hi Marlene, thanks for your reply. I feel so sorry for this girl, she is the little one and gets picked on, I'm sorry it's not up to me to treat her. Can't tell my friend what to do, but can certainly pass on your excellent advise.

sounds like a nasty infection, if this was my hen I would give her an
antibiotic because a wound like that can infect the bone or get to the
brain and then she is doomed for sure. I would not mess with home remedies
with this kind of injury.
