Re: [CHICKENS-101] Ecoli

Rania, Your chickens "could" get anything.  BUT the odds of them catching it are very slim.  You keep them as clean as chickens can be kept clean, feed them well and give them clean water.  I'd guess that your chickens have a very nice strong immune system from having a chicken mom who tries to meet their every need and whim. :>):

Subject: [CHICKENS-101] Ecoli

I just got off the elvator at work today and we have these captivate montitors that talks about news around the nation. I noticed a little blurp about ecoli on the rise. This got me questioning on whether or not my hens can get ecoli, how can they get it and how will I know. I do have a garden and they roam around it and sometimes poop on the soil. I know that their poop is good, but this thing with ecoli has gotten me a little scared. Does any one know?

Thanks,

Rania
