I haven't had them go after a mini yet. But I assume if I have a newborn/young foal if they put their minds to it, they would. My husband and and another guy, a couple of times have shot at a bunch (and killed several) that had very young calves down out in the pasture. In the little over a year we lived here, we trapped over 70, at the house alone. Cody shot one that was literally feet from the chicken house one day last winter, and I'd just been there scrapping the chickens. His Catahoula picked up the scent when they drove up, and went to him. We haven't baited our traps in a few months here at the house, but last night we came home to my mini's standing in the hwy, they'd gotten out, through a hole the hogs tore in the net wire. So the traps will be batied once again. The meat is good, and esp if you grain 'em for 2 weeks to a month before butchering. And you can't more natural than wild hog. LOL We keep one in the freezer all the time now.

Here's a picture of the biggest we've trapped at the house so far, and one of the one that was feet within my chicken house.

Teresa, Feral hogs are a really huge problem for your farm aren't they? They'll eat your chickens. Will the feral hogs kill and eat your minis?
