RE: [CHICKENS-101] Re: help! sick pullet

Kristen,

just start with Sulmet then and get the terramycin when you get to the
store so you have it on hand if the Sulmet doesn't work. If they all seem
to be a bit under the weather it might be a good idea to give it to treat
all for parasites. How many chickens do you have? If it's not too many you
can treat individually. Can you get ivermectin at the store? Either the
injectable (you don't have to inject it) or the pour-on.
You may have to give the antibiotic by hand to the ones acting sick as they
may not drink enough to get enough into their system to be effective. And
by all means if they act sick they have to be in an area where they can
stay warm without using their limited body reserves.

I also would give the whole flock some extra nutrition, if you have any dry
dog food you could take 3 cups for about 20 hens and soak it well in water
and offer that to them or you can mix up something like oatmeal soaked and
a few eggs with it to get them some extra protein.
