RE: [CHICKENS-101] broken leg?

Anna,
> I walked around the yard and found her hanging by one leg from a lawn
chair. She was not flaping or squaking, she just looked at me like HELP!

good thing you found her, I had that happen to a rooster, he was sitting on
top of something one minute and I went inside to gather eggs and come out a
minute later and he hung upside down caught on his spur. luckily he was
fine after I freed him.

>and she still cant walk on her leg, she just hopps a little ways and sits
down. She wont put any weight on it. What should I do?

I have had several with leg issues, and today I must have stepped on one of
them and now she is limping. You already checked for cuts, so I am assuming
you felt her leg and you didn't find any bones sticking out. Have you felt
her leg all the way up to the hip to feel if you can feel anything broken?
Next thing would be to put your finger under her foot and see if she can
grasp it with her toes. Check to see if it's the same color as the other
leg and also check the temperature to see if both legs feel the same. Make
sure she can get to food and water easily and that she has a place to sleep
where she can be comfortable.
let us know how she does tomorrow, hopefully she will start putting a bit
of weight on it.
