Thanks, Laura! I hadn't actually thought of doing a book about about Alex! But you're right, he does need a book about him. For all the pictures I have tortured this group of him with, I have DOZENS more in his album! Most of Alex's adventures are indeed funny and heart warming. But some are downright heart-rendering. I don't want to start a political fight or anything, but last week, we were in the bank and there was a little (probably about 12 or 13 years old) MUSLIM girl there with her father...grandfather...? She wasn't in a Burka or anything like that, obviously very "American". Dreassed in jeans and a shirt and she had a cell phone. She was adorable and she totally freaked out over Alex and the oppertunity to hold him. She could barely let go of him when we had to leave....it was like parting with part of her soul! I actually snapped a picture of her before her father could say anything.......but it has affected me ever since. When I think of the horrors a little girl like this would be exposed to in her home country, I could only thank God she was "safe" here...hopefully. For as much 'healing' that Alex brings to others, there are just as many times that I come home with some profound thought and inspiration as well. Yes....a book is in the works..... Deb
