If they are made by GQF the company has printable manuals available on their website.  You might compare the website pictures with what you have.

We just got a working incubator and another complete one that needs help to work plus two doors that have the fan and wafer and stuff on them.
They look like dinosaurs and weigh about 1000 pounds.I am wondering if anyone knows if they are good to use and how to use them and maybe approximate age?One says 2700 on the door on a chrome plate. The one that works. It has removable egg trays and metal egg holders and he gave use three hatcher trays.I am at a loss. They are quite different than a hovabator!!!Does anyone know how to find a manual? We will have to take apart the shed and use the bobcat with forks just to get it in there.

Re: [CHICKENS-101] Chickens and Cats

Oh, Marla, I know that feeling.  My kitty stays home and never hurts my chicks.  One of my ducks raised 4 babies, mostly running around the back yard and lacy never bothered them at all.  Nor did my dog.  But if a neighbor cat comes on my property it can consider itself toast.

Yep I know about the dangers of cats. I just lost a 2 1/2 month old pretty OEGB and my buff silkie chick to a feral cat last week. I was so mad I wanted to rid the neighborhood of feral cats. I calmed down, realized that would be impossible, and fortified their pens. I haven't been able to catch any cats in the live traps. Crafty little buggers.

Check with your local animal shelter and see if they will loan you a cage/trap.

Re: [CHICKENS-101] Incubating eggs

Thanks Gina. One of my Americauna's eggs are a deep olive green type color (she's half RIR). No light is getting thru that sucker. Having chicks out of her would be major mutts but would be excellent yard birds.

Yep, just wish for the best on those dark eggs. If the others are developing, then I figure the dark ones are too.

Usually the female cats hunt and the males lay around. Just like Lions. My neighbor cats have killed some of my chickens. One killed a blind bantam dominique rooster. I was just sick so be careful of cats.

I was candling my eggs today and one egg set on the 24th had veins and a spot that was moving around like it should be at six days. Then I saw another spot moving independent of the first one! Now I have never seen two spots in a six day egg, ever and these were not moving together. Can it be possible that there are twins in there? Most animals are capable of producing twins and I have seen one twin egg hatch on Utube but this is a single yolk egg as far as I can tell.
It is a Serama egg.

[CHICKENS-101] Re: Incubating eggs

It rarely occurs that a twin yolk egg will successful hatch, However I know it CAN happen because in 2008 One of my Silkie eggs hatched twins. Here is a link to a pic of Trooper & Solider. http://showmesilkies.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoid=6354915

So those of you with chocolate colored eggs. Do you just hope for the best?
