LOL! That is a very funny story! My vet told me not to skin skunks and raccoons because of rabies.

Eww Skunks ... !!! Not my favorite critter to find stalking my chickens at all. My aunt one time accidently caught one in a live trap, and it was about 5 am and still dark when she threw a towel over the trap and loaded it into her car, she was in the process of trapping feral cats and taking them to the vet for neutering etc... so she dropped the havihart trap at off at the vet clinic./p>
Everyone thought it was a black cat, it was so big it was unable to turn around inside the trap, and no one noticed until they opened the trap and it escaped into the vet clinic !!! Can you imagine that chaos ?/p>
And just some info about rabies skunks in the US. I'm not trying to scare anyone, it's not a spam/advertisement link. It's directly from the CDC about rabies in the US and around the world, It's good information to keep up on. Especially if you have ever walked into your coop and found a bat. Eww./p>
And LOL about the whole hubby shooting the skunk inside the coop. What an amazing event to look back on./p>
