Two of my hens are pulling out their tail feathers. One has an orange-sized area where I can see her skin. I saw another one pulling out her feathers or I wouldn’t have known what was happening. Otherwise, they are acting normally. The one with the largest bald spot is my oldest hen. She is slower than the others, but otherwise is behaving as a chicken should. No one is picking on her. I saw no blood.
What is going on?
