Charlene, Sounds like you need woven horse fence covered with poultry fencing, with cedar posts to hold it all up. My main barn pens are all 10 and 15 ft cedar posts sunk 3-4ft with beams, and woven horse fence covered with poultry fencing. We buried horse and poultry fencing. Lynx and bear and strong.  If your home is where you plan to be for the next 50-60 years, it's the best way to go. I've found fencing, posts, and lumber on free cycle too.

The bears make me nervous..... The brute strength! I am hoping for a sturdy coop shelter. I love electricity! they encourage electric fence to protect chicken coops here. No snakes in Anchorage. Yay!
We had two bald eagles sitting in our back yard last winter. My run will have a roof or a wire top Definitely! I have seen Moose in town and bears wander through the neighborhood. I have seen a Lynx in a busier part of town. Amazes me!
